COMUNICATO STAMPA: LAVAZH PARTI BY ALTERAZIONI VIDEO
Nell'ambito del progetto ARCIPELAGO BALKANI, ideato da Claudia Zanfi
e realizzato in collaborazione con l'Ufficio Cultura della Comunità
Europea, il collettivo internazionale Alterazioni Video (Milano/ Berlino/
NYC), in occasione della loro prima personale a Tirana dal titolo “Alternative
Tirana”, presenta in anteprima assoluta un progetto con oltre
500 Polaroid scattate durante il soggiorno in terra albanese nell'estate
del 2010. Durante il viaggio gli artisti hanno osservato la realtà
prendendo vantaggio dalla distanza che li separa dall!essere abitanti
del luogo. Questo piacevole stato mentale, di osservazione attiva e
immaginifica, e' quello in cui si ritrova ogni viaggiatore che in un
paese straniero e' affascinato dalla realtà che lo circonda,
forse proprio perché non riesce a comprenderla fino in fondo.
Le città, le spiagge, i panorami mozzafiato, le foto delle vacanze,
del matrimonio, di situazioni quotidiane e intime che raccontano le
persone e il contesto in cui vivono, i grandi progetti per il futuro
e le tracce del passato, documentate con una tecnica innovativa, costituiranno
una mappatura del territorio e un ritratto sincero del paese, visto
anche attraverso gli occhi dei suoi abitanti.
In occasione della mostra presso la Zeta Gallery verranno inoltre realizzate
delle sculture inedite ispirate alle architetture e ai luoghi della
città di Tirana, oltre a un intervento site
specific nello spazio pubblico.
Durante l'opening avrà luogo “LAVAZH SPECIAL PARTI”:
una installazione/performance in cui la cittadinanza di Tirana è
invitata a portare la propria auto e a partecipare a un atto di lavaggio
collettivo... Saranno a disposizione: acqua, sapone, spugne, aspirapolvere
e tutto il necessario per rendere la propria automobile pulita dentro
e fuori.
Per l'occasione verranno prodotte delle magliette commemorative e dei
poster.
Il video di documentazione della performance verra' poi proiettato in
galleria per la durata della mostra.
Alterazioni Video è un collettivo fondato a Milano nel 2003.
Il gruppo ha esposto, tra gli altri, alla 52ª Biennale di Venezia,
a Manifesta 7 (Rovereto), a Performa 09 (New York), alla Fondazione
Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (Torino), a Palazzo Rosso (Genova) e alla Moderna
Galerija (Lubiana).

PRESS RELEASE: LAVAZH PARTI BY ALTERAZIONI VIDEO
As part of the ARCIPELAGO BALKANI project, devised by Claudia Zanfi and held in collaboration with the Culture Office of the European Community, on the occasion of their first solo exhibition in Tirana entitled “Alternative Tirana”, the international collective Alterazioni Video (Milan/ Berlin/ NYC), presents the first preview of a project made up of over 500 Polaroid snapshots taken during their stay in Albania in the summer of 2010. During their journey, the artists observed the reality around them, exploiting the distance that sets them apart from being inhabitants of the country. This fruitful mental state, one of active and imaginative observation, is what all travellers find themselves in when fascinated by the surrounding reality of a foreign country, perhaps also by virtue of the fact that they are unable to understand it completely.
The photos of cities, beaches, breathtaking panoramas, holidays, weddings, everyday and even intimate situations telling of the people and their lives, their great plans for the future and the traces of the past, documented using an innovative technique, come together to offer an original mapping of the territory and a heart-felt portrait of the country, seen also through the eyes of its inhabitants.
For the exhibition at the Zeta Gallery, a number of sculptures will be produced, inspired by the architecture and key areas of Tirana, as well as a site-specific intervention in thepublic space.
During the opening, the “LAVAZH SPECIAL PARTI” will take place: an installation/ performance in which the citizens of Tirana are invited to bring along their own cars and take part in a group car-washing session. The following will be made available: water, soap, sponges, vacuum cleaners and everything else you might need to make your car sparkling clean both inside and out. For the occasion, a number of commemorative t-shirts and posters will be produced. The video of the performance will be shown during the period of the exhibition in Tirana.
Alterazioni Video is a collective founded in Milan in 2003. The group has displayed in numerous events, including the 52nd Venice Biennale, Manifesta 7 (Rovereto), Performa 09 (New York), the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (Turin), Palazzo Rosso (Genoa) and at the Moderna Galerija (Ljubljana).
