RoToR in TERRA, MARE e ARIA
tattica per la guerra quotidiana

Attraverso un’azione diretta non mediata, utilizzando il corpo come attrezzo principale e l’intorno immediato come superficie, RoToR basa il suo metodo nell’esperienza propria e nel materiale non processato per capire e per trasformarsi assieme ad esso e all’intorno, incitando ad un processo evolutivo che permetta di aprire corridoi e connessioni per la libera circolazione delle idee.

RoToR non conclude fino a quando non apre collegamenti; costruisce ponti (interni-esterni / personali-sociali) in un lento itinerario focalizzato sui mezzi naturali: Mare, Terra e Aria.

Dopo 6 anni di esperienze condivise RoToR celebra la fine della prima rotazione con una retrospettiva mirata, dopo il campo base installato a Reggio Emilia durante i mesi di luglio Agosto e Settembre 2007.

Questa estate convergeremo in un capannone industriale nella periferia di Reggio Emilia (Italia) , con tutta la nostra materialità ed immaterialità dispersa monteremo un campo base temporale di RoToR.

Spacchetteremo delle scatole piene di file polverosi, schizzi spiegazzati, mappe, oggetti trovati e le cose che abbiamo fatto... tutto quello è stato accumulato dalll'estate del 2001 quando abbiamo iniziato ad uscire insieme per cercare delle avventure sulle strade di Poble Nou.

Ci guarderemo indietro retrospettivamente, pronti a rivisitare, valutare e testare quello che abbiamo imparato - vogliamo mettere a tutte queste cose un sigillo di libertà, staccarle da noi in modo da essere libere e aperte per tutti coloro che le vogliono utilizzare.

Invitiamo tutti voi, amici e collaboratori che ci avete accompagnato nelle avventure e nelle nostre esplorazioni su TERRA, ACQUA e ARIA in cui siamo cresciuti assieme, a venire a celebrare l'ultima avventura della prima rotazione di RoToR. Noi vi invitiamo ad equipaggiare ed abitare il capannone, che sarà aperto durante questi tre mesi estivi (luglio/settembre/agosto), trasformandolo e lasciandosi trasformare.

Per fare questo, senza un piano preciso apriremo diversi dipartimenti: Pedinamento, Ingegneria, Logistica, Alimentazione... Ti invitiamo ad unirti e ad inventare la tua missione, questa volta nelle campagne dell'Emilia Romagna.

We invite all of you, friends and collaborators who accompanied us on our adventures and explorations on SEA, EARTH and AIR, in which we grew together, to come along and celebrate the last adventure of the First Rotation of RoToR - We invite you to fit out and inhabit the Warehouse that will be open over these three sumer months (July / September / August), helping us to transform it and transform ourselves as we transform our surroundings.

To do this, without any fixed plan, we are opening up a series of departments: tracking, engineering, logistics, food supply… we invite you to join one and invent your own mission, this time in the countryside around Emilia Romana.

By means of real facts and practical explorations Rotor is in the process of constant self-definition. It becomes the dynamic part of an engine made up of people from different ambits, working together and sharing their knowledge. In Rotor there’s always the chance to play decoding the chains of information and creating a new system of signs and valuation having to do with both, personal conditions and locations. Rotor connects up and crosses, goes up and down. We learn from the game the role we are playing and the board where we are located. The movement keeps us awake and it makes us activate a closer and more vital relationship not only with the environment but also with the emotions players feel when enjoying it. It offers the possibility to take part in the process of creating the rules of the game. It gives us a mission. Rotor explorations are divided into three different phases: terrestrial phase, aerial phase and aquatic phase. Nowadays Rotor is in the air.

Poble NOW: Esplorare il territorio che cambia, 2002-2003 / / "... una serie di progetti che comportano la produzione di modificare le mappe del quartiere Poblenou, Barcellona è uno dei principali obiettivi della riqualificazione urbana. Le mappe mostrano spazi aperti, no-zone di accesso, gli accessi temporanei, zone di confine, zone di sorveglianza, zone in cui lavori di costruzione è in corso, i posti si deve saltare, i luoghi da cui si sale verso il basso, dove c'è un camino ancora in piedi , in cui gli sviluppatori di proprietà e di nuove abitazioni si trovano. Le mappe, che pubblicano gli artisti stessi, i movimenti di dovete fare in modo di attraversare queste aree. Il corpo, ancora una volta diventa un indicatore che segna il territorio. Come Deleuze e Guattari, direi, gli artisti reterritorialise questi spazi con le proprie esperienze. Essi simultaneamente fotografia, film in video e prendere appunti sui piani. La situazione si documento nasce dalla logica della gita, che si riferiscono a un safari. Questo atteggiamento si trasforma improvvisamente i luoghi visitati in luoghi scoperti pieno di attrazioni esotiche e ci dice anche che cosa pensano del settore turistico nel suo complesso. Teixit * PN / / PobleNow TESSUTI * è un generatore di mappa che visualizza su una maglia reticolare i risultati di una ricerca su banca dati di circa 4000 fotografie scattate durante le esplorazioni e percorsi avventura di un periodo di trasformazione urbana e sociale nel territorio Poble Nou. Secondo la combinazione di parametri assegnati, una mappa del tessuto urbano è generato. La combinazione di parametri costituisce sempre una frase: un ricorso tramite un elemento urbano in una sorta di zona e di una determinata data. Oltre al indubbia rilevanza per gli sport, questa data rappresenta un cambiamento nel cotidianity di Barcellona. Che inizia il 25 luglio e per cinque giorni in poi, faremo cinque percorsi diversi nelle diverse parti della città, che collega le sculture olimpiche negli spazi pubblici. I cinque circuiti rappresentano i cinque anelli olimpici, e ogni parte della città corrisponde ad un continente. Poble NOW: Exploring the changing territory, 2002-2003 // ”…a series of projects which involve the production of changing maps of the Poblenou district, one of Barcelona's main focuses of urban redevelopment. The maps show open spaces, no-access zones, temporary accesses, border zones, zones of surveillance, zones where building work is in progress, places you have to jump across, places you have to climb down, where there is a chimney still standing, where the property developers and new housing are located. The maps, which the artists publish themselves, show the movements you have to make in order to cross these areas. The body once again becomes an indicator which marks the territory. As Deleuze and Guattari would say, the artists reterritorialise these spaces with their own experiences. They simultaneously photograph, film on video and make notes on the plans. The situation they document stems from the logic of the excursion, which they refer to as a safari. Teixit*PN // PobleNow TISSUE* is a map generator which visualizes on a reticular mesh the results of a data base search of approximately 4000 photographs taken during the explorations and adventure routes of an urban and social transformation period in the Poble Nou territory. According to the combination of assigned parameters, a map of urban tissue is generated. The combination of parameters always constitutes a sentence: an action through an urban element in a type of area and a given date. Apart from the obvious relevance for the sports, this date represents a change in Barcelona’s cotidianity. Big economic inversions in infraestructural and urbanistical fields enerated the reconstruction of big areas in the city, as the Olympic Village and Vall Hebrón, the frontside recovery with the new Olympic Port, beaches, hotels... but one of the most ambicious project was the incorporation of a great number of public sculptures, the majority of wellknown artists from around the world, in differnet points of the city. Ten years after this event, that put Barcelona on the world map, we propose a commemorative event:The Sculptoric Olympiade. We fabricate rafts gathering and reusing urban control and construction accessories common in the metropolis of the westernized world; the standardization and accessibility of these elements in the urban environment make possible the use of the manual on a world-wide scale.
